Letter to Poage Valley Residents
On the Friday after Thanksgiving (when Roanoke County offices were closed), residents of the neighborhoods surrounding Poage Family Farm received notice of a land use application from ABoone Real Estate, Inc., to change the zoning of the Poage Family Farm land from R-1 single-family low-density residential district to R-3 medium-density multi-family residential district and C-2 high-intensity commercial district.
What does that mean?
ABoone Real Estate wants to put 138 townhouses on 15.01 rural/agricultural acres and build a shopping/business center in the middle of a long-existing rural neighborhood that is not equipped with the infrastructure to handle it. This development will negatively impact long-time residents who have had no input on this matter.
Join us in telling Roanoke County NO to rezoning for Poage Valley!
Below you can see the letter that residents received and what the proposed rezoning will look like.
